Tide

Tide is Harbor's son and the dog most people mean when they say they want one like ours. He is a true black with a broad head, a kind eye and a tail that has cleared more than one coffee table. He weighs 84 pounds in hard condition and carries it easily. He earned his Working Certificate from the national club at two, which asks a Labrador to show it will still do the job it was bred for: a marked retrieve on land and two in the water, delivered to hand. He did it the way he does everything, without any fuss. He swims the creek most mornings and sleeps through most afternoons. Genetically Tide is black carrying yellow, and he does not carry chocolate. Bred to a yellow or to a black who carries yellow, he gives blacks and yellows. Bred to a chocolate, he gives all blacks. He cannot sire a chocolate puppy.
